Hello. My name is Juan Jose Chango Azanza. I am a graduate physician from the Catholic University of Cuenca – School of Medicine of Ecuador, and a PGY-1 Internal Medicine Resident at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. I have completed my USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 2 CS, and Step 3 examinations and achieved the ECFMG certification. I have two years of experience in hospital and outpatient settings as a physician. I am passionate about medicine in general and Internal Medicine is my field of interest. My future career interests are Hematology/Oncology, Cardiology and Hospital Medicine.
Throughout my career, I have required a lot of guidance and information regarding the preparation for applying to residency. I believe that a website can contribute to clear these doubts and questions making the chase for our dreams a little more manageable. Being a physician involves multiple aspects including the acquisition of knowledge, development of clinical skills, effective communication, solid interpersonal skills, and more. However, feelings and emotions are an important part of our lives, with motivation playing a key role in achieving success in our careers. Cooperation and teamwork are essential in medicine and sharing one’s experiences and anecdotes can be as important as the share of knowledge and information. Mi nombre es Juan José Chango. Soy un médico graduado en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca – Ecuador. Actualmente me encuentro en los Estados Unidos preparándome para la aplicación a las Residencias Medicas.
